NadTech Driver — Privacy Policy

NadTech Driver (“the app”) is a native iOS and Android application provided by NadTech Suite (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what data the app collects, why we collect it, and how it is used.
1. What we collect
Precise location (GPS). While you have actively started a tracking session, the app captures your device’s GPS coordinates approximately every 2–3 minutes (less often when you have been parked for an extended period). Each location reading includes latitude, longitude, accuracy, heading, and speed.
That is the only data the app collects. We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, files, calendars, health data, advertising identifier, or browsing history.
2. Why we collect it
The sole purpose of the app is to share your truck’s current position with your carrier’s dispatch team while you are actively on a freight load. Your dispatcher uses this information to:
- Coordinate pickup and delivery timing with shippers and consignees
- Compute live ETAs
- Reach you faster if a load needs to be re-routed
- Provide proof of pickup or delivery to customers when required
3. Who sees your location
Only the carrier company whose tracking link you tapped. Each carrier operates its own NadTech Suite account. Your location data is delivered to that carrier’s account and only their authorized dispatch users can see it.
We do not sell, broker, share, or otherwise distribute your location data to advertisers, data brokers, marketing companies, or any third party.
4. When we collect it
Location is collected only while you have actively started a tracking session by tapping “Start Sharing Location” in the app. The app stops collecting location the moment you tap “Stop Sharing Location” or close the active load session in dispatch.
The app does NOT track your location when:
- You have not yet started a session
- You have stopped a session
- The app has been removed from your phone
5. Background tracking
The app uses iOS’s “background location” capability so that location pings continue to flow to your carrier even when the app is not on your screen. This is necessary because freight loads typically last many hours, and asking you to keep the app in the foreground for an entire shift is impractical.
iOS shows a clear status indicator (blue or red bar at the top of your screen) whenever an app is using your location in the background. If you ever see this indicator and the app is open, location is being shared. If you don’t see it, location is NOT being shared.
6. How long your location data is retained
Location pings are retained on your carrier’s NadTech Suite account according to that carrier’s retention policy. For most carriers this is the lifetime of the load plus a reasonable archival window (typically 6–24 months) to support audit, dispute resolution, and customer service inquiries.
You may request deletion of your historical pings by contacting your carrier’s dispatch team directly. Carriers are obligated to honor your deletion request under our data-processing terms unless retention is required by law (e.g., DOT, FMCSA, or customer contract).
7. Security
Location data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) only. We do not transmit location over unencrypted channels.
Access to your location data within your carrier’s NadTech Suite account is restricted to that carrier’s authorized dispatch and admin users.
8. Your controls
You can stop the app from collecting location at any time by:
- Tapping “Stop Sharing Location” inside the app
- Revoking the app’s location permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → NadTech Driver → Never
- Deleting the app
9. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes (e.g., new data types collected, new sharing relationships) will be announced in-app with at least 30 days’ notice. Continued use after that period constitutes acceptance.
